Echium 'blue bedder'

In some ways this plant is a classic garden annual: quck and easy to grow and provides lots of colour for months. But, unlike many bedding plants, it is packed with nectar which it continues to produce all day long so the bees can keep coming back. This is the annual version of the native biennial echium vulgare - a tough and rough surviver of dry conditions. Blue bedder is a softer plant, and more suited to a garden border.  All echiums are fab for bees as are most of the broader 'boraginacea' family.

The only trouble is that you will not find it garden centres, exept as seed, but we stock it in trays of 10 plug plants..
